Abstract:
Vchynicko-tetovský canal and its system are technical monuments, which shows the ingenious way of using water power in process of transporting wood for business plans of Schwarzenberg prince family on the market with firewood in the 19th century. This work brought industrialization and the related changes in the landscape and settlement into the area. The bed of the canal is well-preserved throughout its length, although it was adjusted to later use. However, eight reservoirs, which supplied the canal with water and were destroyed in connection with events after Word War II, are in worse condition.
