Abstract:
Aim of this paper is to inform about the circumstances of find and archaeological research of the brick kiln in Nižná Myšľa in Košice–country district and about its construction. The aim of the authors is a graphic visualization and a descriptive reconstruction of the look and operation of the kiln. Brickyard, which includes discovered kiln, related to the broader context of building activities on feudal estates in the village. Therefore, this paper also includes excursion into modern history of the Nižná Myšľa village and estate. Brick production here evidently existed since the High Middle Ages until the 19th century, but discovered brick kiln dates from the last quarter of the 18th century to the first half of the 19th century.
