Abstract:
The present study is a reflection on the evidence of metallurgical activity in the Early Bronze Age in Hodonice and its surroundings. It mainly focuses on artefactual evidence of metallurgical activity from Hodonice, Znojmo „Castle“, Znojmo „rotunda“ and Suchohrdly. In particular, metal ingots, ceramic tuyeres and grooved axe-hammers were examined by means of non-destructive natural science analyses, the partial results of which form an important part of the work. Based on the results of the natural science analyses and socio-spatial data, the significance of metallurgical activity in the BA2-A3 phase in the vicinity of Hodonice is assessed.
