Abstract:
The first phase of research aimed at localising the wreck of the U-206 Reichenberg submarine took place in 2021 in the Bay of Biscay in the Atlantic Ocean. An older Geometrics G 816 device was modified, completely digitalised and fitted with GPS and Wi-Fi modules to search the ocean. The research confirmed it was possible to look for the shipwreck at distances of up to hundreds of metres.
