Abstract:
In September 2018, a workshop aimed at the promotion of traditional lime-burning technology took place in the premises of the beer brewery at Kostelec nad Černými lesy (region Prague-East). In the scope of the event, a small lime kiln of cylindrical shape with one heating channel for periodic heating with wood was built and tested, demonstrating the process of lime burning and subsequent slaking for storage in an earth pit.
