Abstract:
The objective of the contribution is the effort to inform about new findings brought to light by a single small-scale survey conducted in the Jánská dolina region south from Liptovský Ján (Horný Liptov) in northern Slovakia. The objective of the survey were lime kilns, which impressed the author during a brief stay in the Stanišov valley in 2012. During a mere one-day survey in 2014, surprising findings could be made. It is evident that the area to the south of Liptovský Ján represents a group of objects related to lime production on a microregional scale. The aim of the survey was the approximate delimitation of the extent of the site as well as an indication of a possible chronological relation to the history of local building, which reached its peak in connection with the important landlord family Szentivanyi.
